SOCI 202 - Social Problems3 CR This course examines the causes and consequences of social problems that face masses of people in the US and around the world, such as poverty, inequality, crime, war, lack of access to health care, deficiencies in the educational system, discrimination, political persecution, etc. It explores these questions through the lens of sociological theories, builds social awareness, and helps students evaluate and think critically about strategies aimed at addressing social problems.
Requisites: Next Gen ACCUPLACER® reading score of 244, or at least a grade of C in TSRE 55 .
