MATH 118 - Applied Algebra/Trigonometry 13 CR This course includes the following topics: scientific notation, review of basic algebra, solution of linear equations, graphing of algebraic functions, introduction to trigonometry, solution of right triangles, vectors, graphs of trigonometric functions, and solution of oblique triangles. Laboratory experiences will be used in this course to show direct applications. Students are required to have a graphing calculator. Specifications will be made by the instructor. Prerequisites & Requisites: (1) ACCUPLACER® reading score of 60, or at least a grade of C in TSRE 55 (AND) (2) ACCUPLACER® college algebra score of at least 65, or ACCUPLACER® elementary algebra score of at least 85, or 1 course from MATH 102 , MATH 105 , MATH 111 , MATH 112 , MATH 115 , MATH 118, MATH 119 , MATH 125 , MATH 130 , MATH 132 , MATH 140 , MATH 141 , MATH 142 , MATH 241 , or MATH 242 with at least a grade of C.
