Industrial Machining Technology Certificate

Program Description

Code 151 - 30 Credits

Nearly every sector of the manufacturing industry is dependent upon people with specialized machining technology training including automotive, aerospace, medical supply, furniture, metals/metal products, plastics, machinery, and even the newly developing renewable energy sector. These people work with designers to make fixtures, dies, molds, and other parts that support the manufacturing process. The Industrial Machining Technology core curriculum at Kellogg Community College prepares students to make these parts. Students may pursue either a Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Machining Technology. To earn the certificate, students must complete thirty (30) credits in the Machining Technology core curriculum.

  • Machinery’s Handbook
  • Machining Technology Projects
  • Mathematics

  • Surface and Cylindrical Grinding
  • Turning 
  • Vertical/Horizontal Milling

Modular Format

Industrial Trades curricula are offered in a non-traditional, modular format. Module descriptions are not listed in the catalog. Industrial Trades Orientation

All students interested in taking Industrial Trades modules must complete one or more core curriculum orientations. The orientation is a core curriculum prerequisite. Students will not be able to register for modules until the orientation is completed.
