EXSC 205 - Personal Training 3 CR This course introduces nutrition for health and performance. The course will walk students through an overview of nutrients, metabolism, body composition, eating disorders in athletes and the timing play in supporting and improving human physical performance. This course will emphasize preparation for students to sit for certification exam as a sport nutritionist with NCCA accredited organizations.
Requisites: Next Gen ACCUPLACER® Reading score of 244, or TSRE 55 with a grade of C. Course Learning Outcomes:
- Understand kinesiology as it relates to responses and adaptations demanded by the personal training profession.
- Perform basic exercise laboratory tasks pertaining to assessments, analytical practices, data acquisition, and reporting.
- Apply knowledge of the importance and influence of kinesiology and be an advocate for physically active lifestyles.
- Plan, administer, and evaluate wellness and fitness programs.
