Post-Secondary Articulation Agreements and Transfer Partnerships

POST-SECONDARY ARTICULATION AGREEMENTS AND TRANSFER PARTNERSHIPS

Students intending to transfer from Kellogg Community College (KCC) to another college or university are responsible for planning their coursework to meet degree requirements at their intended institution. KCC maintains formal articulation agreements and transfer partnerships with numerous four-year institutions to support a smooth transition for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees.

Because these agreements are updated regularly, the most current information is available on our Transfer Studies webpage or by contacting Academic Advising at (269) 965-4124 or advising@kellogg.edu.

Students who enroll at Kellogg Community College (KCC) with the intention of transferring to a baccalaureate college or university should:

  1. Meet with a KCC academic advisor to discuss an intended major, degree requirements, general education, and transferability of courses.
  2. Obtain a transfer guide developed by the transfer institutions to assist them through the transfer process.
  3. Learn to use the Michigan Transfer Network to verify the transferability of KCC courses.
  4. Evaluate transfer institutions to learn about entrance and degree requirements.
  5. Visit and meet with an academic advisor at the transfer institution.
  6. Apply early and meet deadlines for financial aid, scholarships, and housing at the transfer institution.
  7. Request to have KCC transcripts  sent to the transfer institution.

Students are also encouraged to attend KCC-sponsored transfer events-such as the annual Transfer Fair-to connect directly with university partners and explore transfer pathways.

Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA)

The MTA allows students to transfer up to 30 credits from KCC to participating Michigan universities to satisfy many-or in some cases, all-general education requirements. This agreement is embedded within several KCC associate degrees, including the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science. For more information visit KCC’s Transfer page.

Credit When It’s Due

Students who transfer before finishing their associate degree may still complete it using credits earned at their university. To be considered, students must request an official transcript be sent to KCC for evaluation. Details are available on KCC’s Transfer page.
