MATH 142 - Calculus 2 5 CR A study of the techniques of integration, limits, series, and applications. Students are required to have a graphing calculator. Specifications will be made by the instructor. Lab Fee
Requisites: Take MATH 141 with at least a grade of C. General Education Requirement: Critical Thinking - Applied Core Michigan Transfer Agreement Requirement: Mathematics Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Explore various techniques of integration and applications such as area, arc length, volume, and center of mass. |
2. Study sequences and series, and related concepts such as convergence, divergence, function approximation, differentiation, and integration. |
3. Solve differential equations using separation of variables. |
4. Examine differentiation and integration ideas related to parametric equations and polar coordinates. |
5. Demonstrate understanding of calculus from multiple perspectives such as algebraic, numeric, graphical, and verbal approaches. |
6. Model real world situations using concepts of integration and differentiation. |
