INMT 30080 - Drill Press Project

The worker in a metal-cutting environment must effectively and efficiently use a drill press to machine parts to print specifications. This module will provide the student with information necessary for the development of these skills and abilities as they apply to perform various processes on a drill press to create a project with multiple parts that need to align and assemble with each other.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Plan for common sawing, hole making, and assembly processes.
  2. Prepare materials, tooling, and equipment for sawing, hole making, and assembly operations.
  3. Safely operate drill presses, band saws, and ancillary equipment to manufacture products that conform to design specifications.
  4. Assemble components into functional products.
  5. Verify machined components and assemblies conform to design specifications.
