OIT 161 - Applications Software 3 CR An introductory course surveying popular microcomputer software using hands-on instruction. Topics will include Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentation software. [16-32-48] Lab Fee
General Education Requirement: Critical Thinking - Applied Core Course Learning Outcomes:
- Use Word to insert and format text, paragraphs, sections, and document elements to create standard business documents.
- Use Word to create and format a research paper with footnotes, endnotes, in-text citations, and a bibliographical list of sources.
- Use Word to insert and format Word tables and graphics, to organize and present information.
- Use Excel to enter and format text, numbers, formulas, and functions to structure and organize data within a spreadsheet.
- Use Excel to use formulas and Excel’s functions to perform calculations.
- Use Excel to create and edit Excel tables and charts to visually present numerical data.
- Use PowerPoint to create and deliver a presentation featuring text, images, transitions, and animations.
