HUSE 184 - Practicum in Human Services 3 CR Supervised practicum with preschool and elementary-age children. This course is designed to provide experience in the integration and application of the knowledge and skills of the human service worker. The student will be supervised in a reality-based work environment.
Additional Information: Recommend prior to or concurrent: Take HUSE 220 . Departmental approval required.
Students must meet site requirements, criminal background checks, a health physical, and a TB test. Requisites: Take HUSE 101 with at least a grade of C. Course Learning Outcomes:
- Apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes of an effective human service worker.
- Demonstrate an understanding of professional ethics and behavior as identified in the Ethical Standards of Human Service Workers.
- Assess and develop plans to effectively meet the needs of others.
- Communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
