Program Description
Code 1108 - 30 Credits
KCC’s Millwright program is an accelerated program designed for individuals who are currently in or seeking to enter the Millwright field. This Program provides learners with the opportunity to develop additional maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair skills en route to obtaining a two Certificates and an Associate Degree in Millwright. This stackable credential model is in alignment with industry standards in providing students the opportunity to receive multiple credentials in an expedited manner.

If a student has completed an approved 8000 hour or greater USDOL apprenticeship and has a valid journeyman card or USDOL apprenticeship certificate, they can earn 30 transfer credits towards the AAS in Millwright. This will show on their transcript as APPR 133 - the Millwright Apprentice Certification course. Eligible students should see front desk staff at the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center.
APPR 133 course description:
The Millwright Apprentice Certification course transfers a Journeyman’s Card or a USDOL Bureau of Apprenticeship Certificate from an 8000 hour or greater Millwright program to Kellogg Community College as 30 hours of transcripted credit (in lieu of a Millwright Level 2 certificate) towards the attainment of an Associate in Applied Science in Millwright.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Technical: Program graduates will demonstrate the technical knowledge and skills required to install, assemble, repair, and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment.
- Safety: Program graduates will demonstrate the ability to adhere to safety protocols required in industrial environments, and to safely utilize tools and equipment to install, assemble, repair, and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment.
- Problem Solving: Program graduates will demonstrate the ability to evaluate evidence, draw conclusions, make decisions, and solve problems from a variety of perspectives to install, assemble, repair, and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment industrial machinery and equipment.
- Communication: Program graduates will effectively communicate the technical content of the field, both written and orally, in a manner that is appropriate to audience and purpose.
