Program Description

Code 1106 - 30 Credits

KCC’s Industrial Mechanic program is an accelerated program designed for individuals who are currently in or seeking to enter the Industrial Mechanic field.  This Program provides learners with the opportunity to develop additional maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair skills en route to obtaining a two Certificates and an Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanic.  This stackable credential model is in alignment with industry standards in providing students the opportunity to receive multiple credentials in an expedited manner.

  • Low-Pressure and High-Pressure Steam Systems, Basic & Advanced Towers & Vessels, and Industrial Heat Transfer Equipment

  • Couplings & Alignment Fundamentals, Prealignment and Shim Fabrication, and Dial Indicator & Laser Alignment

Program Learning Outcomes


  1. Technical: Program graduates will demonstrate the technical knowledge and skills required to repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment. 
  2. Safety: Program graduates will demonstrate the ability to adhere to safety protocols required in industrial environments, and to safely utilize tools and equipment to repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment. 
  3. Problem Solving: Program graduates will demonstrate the ability to evaluate evidence, draw conclusions, make decisions, and solve problems from a variety of perspectives to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment. 
  4. Communication: Program graduates will effectively communicate the technical content of the field, both written and orally, in a manner that is appropriate to audience and purpose.
