Program Description

Code 292 - 60 Credits

The Executive Assistant program at Kellogg Community College prepares students to enter business and industry as the next generation of administrative professionals and leaders. The program includes rigorous curriculum of classroom, lab, and hands-on experience that prepares students for success in small to large businesses. Successful completion of the program requirements provides the student with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Application Systems - Executive Assistant.

Executive Assistants are the premier administrative professionals who support day-to-day operations in business and industry. Successful executive assistants collaborate closely with business leaders by managing critical tasks and projects, coordinate schedules, and maintain communication channels. Over the duration of the program, students will be equipped to identify and resolve challenges using modern business technologies and best practices.

This curriculum leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree. While this curriculum has been designed for career entry and/or advancement, Kellogg Community College does have articulation agreements with several local universities. Interested students should contact the admissions office of the appropriate institution. Please note that most courses in the program also offer several delivery formats, including online, hybrid, and in-person instruction. 

Requirements for the Degree

  1. A minimum of sixty (60) credit hours earned, excluding BIOL, TSMA and TSRE courses with numbers less than 100 and MUSI 100. A cumulative grade point average at KCC of at least 2.0.
  2. A minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours must be completed at Kellogg Community College.
  3. A maximum of 75% of the credit hours required for a degree may be documented and transferred to KCC.
  4. All Students who obtain an Associate degree must complete the FYS 101 - First-Year Seminar course with a grade of a C or higher. This degree requirement can also be achieved by earning a degree from an accredited institution or transferring 24 or more credits from another accredited institution applicable to their degree. See an Academic Advisor, or connect with the Integrative Learning Department, for course completion and/or any questions pertaining to the FYS course.

Service-Learning Requirement

Students who obtain an Associate degree or an Associate of Applied Science degree will be required to complete a service-learning experience. The final grade in the course must qualify for academic credit in order to receive the service-learning endorsement. Please contact an Academic Advisor for courses that offer a service-learning experience, or search in the class schedules.
