Corrections Certificate

Program Learning Outcomes

Program learning outcomes are identified for each degree program. The learning outcomes for the Corrections certificate align with the program learning outcomes for the Corrections, AAS . 

Required Certificate Courses

Students must choose one course from CRJU 130 , CRJU 131 , CRJU 132 , and CRJU 133  plus twelve (12) credits from the following courses for a total of sixteen (16) credits:

• CRJU 101 - Introduction to Criminal Justice 3 CR
• CRJU 130 - Introduction to Corrections 4 CR
• CRJU 131 - Institutional Corrections 4 CR
• CRJU 132 - Client Development and Understanding 4 CR
• CRJU 133 - Client Relations in Corrections 4 CR
• CRJU 201 - Criminal Investigation 3 CR
• CRJU 202 - Criminal Law 3 CR
• CRJU 203 - Crime and Delinquency 3 CR
• CRJU 204 - Criminal Procedures 3 CR
• CRJU 221 - Ethical Problem Solving in Policing 3 CR
• PSYC 201 - Introduction to Psychology 3 CR
• SOCI 201 - Introduction to Sociology 3 CR
• SOCI 202 - Social Problems 3 CR
• SOCI 206 - Race and Ethnic Relations 3 CR

Information:

Students must complete the Corrections program with a cumulative grade of C (73%) or higher to receive the Corrections Certificate.
