Practical Nursing Certificate

Program Description

Code 174 - 47-51 Credits

At the mid-point of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing program, students are eligible to take the practical nurse licensure exam (NCLEX-PN) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This additional certification is optional and does not impact the RN program completion. Information about nurse licensure exams is available at https://www.ncsbn.org/nclex.htm.

LPNs are qualified for employment in nursing homes, clinics, and primary care agencies.

Program learning outcomes are identified for each program. The learning outcomes for the Practical Nursing Certificate align with the program learning outcomes for the Nursing, AAS .

Required Pre-Nursing Courses


Information:


All Nursing coursework, and general education courses, must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher to progress in the program and meet graduation requirements.
