Managerial personnel oversee, direct, and plan the work of others, as well as determine business policy. Supervisors, the largest managerial group, direct the activities of workers in areas of sales, production, and purchasing. Entry-level management positions are typically supervisory or trainee in nature. Some employers have indicated that business management graduates with specific skills such as accounting, marketing, and human resources, may have an employment advantage.
