Program Description
Code 230 - 62 Credits
The Corrections program is designed to promote further education in the field of Corrections. It builds upon the Corrections Certificate program and accepts transfer credit for the successful completion of the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), 320 hour Demarse Academy and/or the successful completion of the Michigan Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council (MSCTC), 160 hour Corrections Academy. The degree can be applied toward entry and/or advancement with corrections agencies on the federal, state, or local levels.
Students who graduate with an associate degree will have successfully completed the following General Education Core Courses in Communicating, Global Awareness, Creativity, Mathematics and Science, and Healthy Living. Students must complete a minimum of sixty-two (62) credit hours to qualify for a degree.
Admissions
There are no additional requirements to pursue this degree other than what is required by Kellogg Community College.
