EDUC 200 - Foundations of Education

3 CR
This course introduces students to the historical, sociological, philosophical, and legal foundations of American education with a focus on educational issues and cross-cultural comparison. Special emphasis is placed on the professional responsibilities of teachers. Students are required to complete eight (8) to ten (10) clock hours of field experiences comprised of classroom observations in pre-K through 12th grade settings in public and private schools. Requisites: Next Gen ACCUPLACER® reading score of 244, or at least a grade of C or P in TSRE 55  or ENGL 151 .
