INPF 101 - Industrial Pipefitting Fundamentals 1 4 CR Introduces fundamental principles and practices of the Industrial Pipefitting field. Develops skills in working with hand and power tools, motorized equipment, ladders and scaffolds, and performing oxyfuel heating and cutting operations. Lab Fee
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the pipefitting craft, pipefitting training pathways, and the characteristics of successful pipefitters.
- Describe pipefitting hand tools and explain how to safely and properly utilize each.
- Describe pipefitting power tools and explain how to safely and properly utilize each.
- Explain oxyfuel cutting and heating, the tools and equipment required, safety precautions, and the procedures for properly performing oxyfuel cutting.
- Describe ladders and scaffolds, explain the safety precautions and guidelines, and discuss the procedures for safely and properly utilizing ladders and scaffolds.
- Discuss the types of motorized equipment used in the pipefitting trade, the safety precautions for each, and the procedures for safe and proper operation.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper operation of pipefitting hand and power tools.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper performance of oxyfuel cutting and heating.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper assembly and use of ladders and scaffolds.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper operation of motor driven equipment.
