BAS 210 - Document Applications

3 CR
Through a step-by-step, project-based approach, students will acquire the skills necessary to use document creation applications to plan, design, and deliver effective professional documents for various audiences and modalities. Students will develop competency in the creation of simple documents, formal and informal business reports, mass communications such as newsletters and letters, electronic forms, and other professional documents used in business and industry today. Students will apply industry best practices for accessibility, usability, and developing content for target audiences to create a custom document.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Insert and format text, paragraphs, sections, and document elements to create standard business documents. 
  2. Create and format reference documents that include table of contents, table of figures, indexes, footnotes, endnotes, in-text citations, and a list of sources. 
  3. Insert and format tables and graphics, to organize and present information. 
  4. Create and modify macros, forms, fields, and controls to automate complex and repetitive tasks. 
  5. Prepare documents for collaboration and editing.
