BAS 160 - Introduction to Business Applications 3 CR This course introduces students to technologies and best practices used in business and industry. Through a hands-on approach, students will acquire foundational knowledge and experience using a select collection of current business applications and best practices. Topics include but are not limited to: current operating systems, file management strategies, online storage platforms, professional communication & scheduling tools, capturing and maintaining digital knowledge. Additionally, students will learn how to create professional documents and formal reports, build professional slide decks, and organize and analyze data within spreadsheets. Lab Fee
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Organize and maintain files within current operating system and cloud storage solutions.
- Communicate with professionals and maintain a professional calendar of action items and events.
- Create and deliver a slide deck presentation featuring text, images, transitions, and animations.
- Insert and format text, paragraphs, sections, and document elements to create standard business documents.
- Create and format a research paper with footnotes, end notes, in-text citations, and bibliographical list of sources.
- Create and edit tables and charts to visually present numerical data within documents or slide decks.
- Create, format, and manage text, numbers, formulas, functions, and data tables to organize and analyze data within a spreadsheet.
