INTR 111 - Vertical-Mast Sit-Down Counterbalance Forklifts

.5 CR
Introduces fundamental principles and practices required to safely utilize vertical-mast sit-down counterbalance forklifts. Develops skills required to safely and efficiently load, move, and lift heavy items and materials with powered industrial trucks. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to obtain a MiOSHA Powered Industrial Truck permit from their employers.         Lab Fee

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Explain all of the safety considerations and requirements, classifications and characteristics, instruments and controls, types of attachments, scheduled maintenance and daily inspections, and safe operating procedures associated with powered industrial trucks. 
  2. Demonstrate the ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks.
