RADI 137 - Principles of Radiologic Imaging 1 3 CR In this course, students will move beyond the physics of how the beam is created to explore how the image is created. Students will study the many variables that affect the creation of the image, as well as study both film/screen and digital image acquisition and processing systems. In addition, image quality factors will be addressed.
Requisites: TakeRADI 123 RADI 125 RADI 126 and RADI 127 with at least a grade of C.
Formal admission to the Radiography Program required. Course Learning Outcomes:
- Classify the prime factors.
- Explain the concept of the patient as the beam emitter.
- Explain the means of minimizing patient exposure.
- Relate changes in beam restriction to image quality and patient dose.
- Explain how limitations of vision and perception impact the diagnostic image.
- Explain the concept of the patient as the beam emitter.
- Relate grid use to image quality.
- Evaluate digital imaging processing.
- Analyze computed radiography.
- Analyze digital radiography.
