CRJU 217 - Emergency Vehicle Operations 2 CR
This course is designed to meet the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) EVO requirements. Students will demonstrate how to operate an emergency vehicle safely while driving in non-emergency, emergency, and pursuit situation. Emphasis will be placed legal and liability issues, policy and procedure requirements, vehicle dynamics, performance driving, evasive maneuvers and demonstrate proficiency in scenario-based exercises.
Additional Information: Program Director approval required.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Operate a vehicle safely under normal driving conditions.
- Operate a vehicle under emergency condition.
- Identify legal and civil liability issues regarding emergency vehicle operations
- Explain how to prepare an emergency vehicle for service.
