INRE 35010 - Wind Safety 0.33 CR Wind system installation presents many dangers to both the personnel involved with the system and possible bystanders nearby. In addition to working with the dangers associated with electricity and power tools and equipment, wind systems also present dangers with the heights normally associated with turbine installation. Students in this module will learn the proper techniques to work safely with ladders, rigging equipment, and other methods and equipment necessary for wind system installation.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the safety requirements both in the design and application of a wind system.
- Install wind energy systems in accordance with local and national codes.
- Calculate system and component size based on environmental conditions.
- Demonstrate the proper use and operation of a wind energy system.
- Demonstrate the proper care and maintenance of the wind energy system components.
