INST 25070 - Flow Lab

1.50 CR
The student will learn the basics of differential pressure flowmeters via the use of a venture tube. The student will also learn how to safely connect and disconnect a differential flowmeter to and from a running process. Centrifugal pump design and operations will also be discussed.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Understand the fundamentals of venture tubes, rotameter, and differential pressure transmitters.
  2. Explain the function of a variety of different pumps.
  3. Measure accurately fluid flow.
  4. Solve fluid flow equations.
