INPF 55011 - Centrifugal Pumps 0.42 CR
The pipefitting student will learn the operating principles of the centrifugal pump; the principles of installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the styles of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
- Interpret pump curve information.
- Define cavitation, net positive head, max and allowable flow rate, shutoff head, total head and flow rate, and pump slip.
- Demonstrate disassembling and re-assembling a centrifugal and positive displacement pump.
- Distinguish between pump in series vs. parallel.
- Identify types of pump seals.
