INPF 35061 - Traps, Interceptors, and Backwater Valves 0.42 CR The pipefitting student will compare and identify plumbing traps, interceptors, and backwater valves. The pipefitting student will analyze their operation and their role in proper drainage systems.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Examine plumbing licensing, plumbing and service piping code history, and plumbing and service piping code material.
- Calculate size for vent and drainage piping systems.
- Identify plumbing fixtures, appliances, devices, and their function.
- Contrast large and residential sewage disposal methods.
- Identify types of drainage vents and their function.
- Explain potable water protection, backflow protection, and devices.
- Define pressure, temperature, safety devices, and testing methods.
- Identify hot water generating devices, code requirements, sizing, and safe installation.
