INMT 65020 - CNC Turning

The worker in a metal-cutting environment must effectively and efficiently program, set up, and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathes and turning centers to produce components that meet customer and print specifications. This module will provide the student with information necessary for the development of these skills and abilities as they apply to understanding programming, set up, and operation of CNC lathes and turning centers.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Describe the principle components of CNC machine tools.
  2. Interpret G-code programs to determine parameters for setup and machining.
  3. Safely prepare materials, tooling, and equipment for CNC machining operations.
  4. Safely operate CNC machinery to produce parts that conform to design specifications.
