INMT 65010 - CNC Fundamentals

The worker in a metal-cutting environment must effectively and efficiently program, set up, and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to manufacture components that meet customer and print specifications. This module will provide the student with information necessary for the development of these skills and abilities as they apply to understand the basic concepts and terminology associated with CNC controllers and machinery.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Describe the principle components of CNC machine tools.
  2. Interpret G-code programs to determine parameters for setup and machining.
  3. Safely prepare materials, tooling, and equipment for CNC machining operations.
  4. Safely operate CNC machinery to produce parts that conform to design specifications.
