INHR 60041 - Alternative Heating and Cooling Systems 0.42 CR In this module, the HVAC-R student will learn how alternative heating and cooling systems are being employed for the purpose of reducing energy consumption. This module introduces several of these alternative systems.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the proper procedure for start-up, shutdown, and seasonal storage for HVAC-R systems.
- Explain the procedure for testing, removing, adding, or removing oil from HVAC-R systems.
- Describe the process of cleaning a shell and tube heat exchanger.
- Demonstrate skills to gather data, design systems, make drawings, estimate HVAC-R needs, and select equipment.
- Identify and describe many different heat exchange styles and how they work.
- Identify and describe several different alternative heating and cooling systems.
