CRJU 204 - Criminal Procedures 3 CR A study of the administration of criminal justice, the nature and scope of police power, the concept of exclusion; laws of arrest, search, seizure, and interrogation; the acquisition of evidence, and judicial protection of the accused will be evaluated.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Students will gain an understanding of the Constitution as it applies to criminal procedure.
- Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of 4th Amendment search and seizure protections and acceptations applicable to law enforcement officers.
- Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination and Miranda applicable to law enforcement officers.
- Students will know how the court system is structured and understand the step-by-step process of a criminal court case.
