BIOL 109 - Principles of Biology: Organismal 4 CR This is one semester of a two-semester, eight credit lecture/laboratory sequence designed to introduce the major concepts of biology for science majors with particular emphasis on diversity of life, developmental biology, plant structure and function, animal structure and function, control systems in plant and animals, ecology and ecosystems. - Understand and utilize the scientific method.
- Evaluate levels of organization by identifying evolutionary characteristics and classifications within the major groups of living organisms.

- Relate the concepts of ecology and sustainability to population dynamics and biodiversity by evaluating the scientific basis for climate change.
