                  HUSE 203 - Introduction to Substance Abuse 3 CR   This course provides a comprehensive overview of the history of drug use and abuse that explores the theoretical and practical issues and survey treatment modalities and current prevention strategies.  
  Requisites: Next Gen ACCUPLACER® reading score of 244, or at least a grade of C in TSRE 55 .  Course Learning Outcomes:  
	- Demonstrate an understanding of alcohol and drug use in the United States.
 
	- Explain the development of drug laws.
 
	- Distinguish the effects of drugs on the nervous system.
 
	- Identify characteristics of drug users.        
 
	- Identify and describe alcohol and drug treatment methods.
